Remedies and Tips-How to stop snoring

Snoring occasionally is normal with every human being however if one snores continuously and loudly it should be a signal indicating a problem. If someone has a snoring problem they should immediately consult a Doctor or try home remedies which could help to stop snoring habit. A snoring problem if ignored can increase in frequency if ignored. Firstly one should analyse snoring as problem.

What causes snoring?

Sleeping causes muscles to relax hereby resulting the passage to be narrowed. As we all know that sound is produced by vibrations similarly when we are sleeping or have a nasal congestion flow of air results in the throat and nose tissues to vibrate and give rise to sound waves in form of snoring. Many other reasons that enhance snoring are asthma, smoking, being overweight,etc.

Remedies to eradicate snoring:

  • Elevation of head: One should use a thick pillow or even two pillows to help elevate ones head which reduces snoring.
  • Avoid alcohol: People who need to block snoring habits should avoid alcohol, sleeping pills, heavy dosage medication including antihistamines,etc which cause the airway muscle to relax and narrow your passage enhancing your snores.
  • Overweight: If one is overweight, they should immediately lose some weight which would improve their snoring problem.
  • Avoid dairy products: One should exclude diary products from their menu before sleep because such products cause a mucus build up which enhances snoring.
  • Sleeping position: To curb snoring one should always sleep on their side instead on their back. To prevent one from sleeping on their back, a small ball can be put sewn at the back, on your nightdress. The purpose of the ball would be to give you a warning as soon as you turn to sleep on your back.
  • Honey: Having a small spoon of honey can help to stop snoring problems.
  • Sleep well: Sleeping well within a fixed routine could be a great help in solving your problem.
  • Avoid rich food: Rich and fatty foods should not be taken before sleeping!

One should even adopt a regular exercise program which would help in depleting your snoring problem. There are many simple exercises that you can easily practice while you are in the shower or even while you are driving. Regular exercises can easily decimate your snoring habit giving you and your partner peaceful sleeping nights!
